I installed plgSpambotcheck to my system.
Now it prevents me, as administrator, from logging into my backend.
Message:"Are you trying to spam? Either your E-Mail or IP has a record in our spambot database. Feel free to drop us a line to get the issue solved."
I'm really not happy with this and ask you to help getting it solved.

thank your for this note.

The idea of plgSpambotCheck is, to check everybody acording to the plugin parameters.
E-mail, IP and/or username are checked against several, well-established online-databases such as Project Honeypot.org, stopForumSpan...

So, if your e-mail or ip or your username is listed -by accident - in such a database, you will be rated as a spammer and will be locked out.

You can prevent plgSpambotCheck definitly from checking yourself by setting your administrator e-mail on the e-mail-whitelist. So you will never be checked.

It's of course not enough to tell you, what you should have done.

To get your problem solved, you need first to disable the plugin in your database.

Open your database, find table jos_plugins and search the recordset for User - SpambotCheck. Open this recordset and set the value of the field "published" to zero. This will enable the plugin and you are able to login again.

After logging in, change plugin's parameters as mentioned above and aktive plugin again.
