Recordview in frontend

Recordview in frontend was created by Ron
Hello Aicha,

I'm puzzled, is there a way to display data from a single record inside an article with the same layout as the edit form, only as a view. I need my users to be able to print a single form directly from an article.

Kind regards,
Ron

Hi Ron,

with the content plugin data view ( www.vi-solutions.de/en/visforms-plugin-d...in-content-data-view ) this would be possible if the record set is created by a logged in user.

The plugin comes with two different layouts. Default is the table view, where each record is displayed in one table row. But there is also a list layout, which will display the data of one record as label value pairs in multiple lines.

See www.vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/vi...-vfdataview-examples the example "Display newest form submission record set"

You need a field like the user name in your form, in order to be able to select the proper record set for display.

Please check out the Documentation ( www.vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/vi...umentation-data-view ) for more details.

Regards,
Aicha

Thank you Aicha,

This solution I already found, but it does not give me the same layout, style and options like the actual form.
In the form we can display “Custom text”, the form uses conditional fields and we can use different viewing levels for each field.

The idea is to create a table list of the forms with a hyperlink field to an article (would be nice if we could use parameters) containing the form, only the form may not be editable.
This way the user sees only the fields has viewing rights to, we use the print and mail options from Joomla and we can use all the layout options you already put so much effort in to display the form in a nice way

Hope this makes sence,

Regards,
Ron

Hi Ron,

okay, this is something different and sadly not possible with Visforms in this way.

I think, with the extension edit data in frontend you could create a display of the form as you want it (form with data but not editable and all custom field texts in place and only the proper conditional fields visible) if you set the form permissions and the field permissions in the proper way, so that the fields are not editable. But with this extension you cannot display the form inside an article and Visforms does not support a print option or mail options as Joomla! articles does.

I could put this feature on the feature request list, I think being able to print the own data and mail them is interesting, but to implement this in an "open" way, so that it can be used by many people, needs some thinking about a good implementation and this will not happen very soon.

I hope you can find a solutions/workaraound anyway.

Regards,
Aicha
