Strange things happening backend

Hi 
We recently updated to the following:

• Joomla to v 3.10.11 
• Visforms 3.14.10
• PHP 8.0.25

Now experiencing unusual things....
At the front end most forms are working except those with conditional fields....these fields are no longer linked to the relevant item. This is because the relevant item is no longer available in the dropdown list even though it is published.

For example:
Conditional field: 'Diameter' is linked to a field called: Style
However the option 'Style'  is not available to select within the 'Diameter' field setup. 

This is not the only issue at the backend... 

Tried creating a test field called 'Style testing' to figure out what was happening. The field was saved and appears in the field list. 
However, when opened - none of the settings are saved. ie., no title or type saved thus the options normally available on the right disappear once the page loads. 

If I try to recreate the field, it returns the message this error below which makes complete sense as it does already exist. But without any data       'Save failed with the following error: Fieldname must be unique. There is already a field with the same name in this form.'When I tried deleting or unpublish the test field this message appears. and the item will not delete or unpublish and is now stuck and visible at the front end.       'Warning      COM_VISFORMS_FIELD_NO_ITEM_SELECTED'

Hoping you can shed some light on the solution to these issues. We love Visforms and have used it seamlessly for a long time but this has us stumped.

I'm sorry for your trouble.

I've never heard of such a problem before.
So I think, it is not a "common" problem.

Nevertheless, I have to ask some basic questions.

Do you have a Visforms Subscription installed on the website?
If so, have you updated the Visforms Subscription, too?
Visforms 3.14.10 requires the Subscription 3.5.8 in order to work properly.

COM_VISFORMS_FIELD_NO_ITEM_SELECTED: This looks like a missing translation.
The translation would be: Please choose a field.
This message is displayed, if you try to delete a field (click the delete button) but, have not selected (checked) a field in the field list, beforehand.
Similiary with any other "action" button like (publish, unpublish..)
Did you select the field before you clicked the button?

Could you please check, if you can get some more detail on the problem?
To get a verbose PHP error report, enable maximum debugging in the Joomla administration before reproducing the error:

Dashboard --> Global Configuration, tab 'System', parameter 'Debug System' = 'Yes'
Dashboard --> Global Configuration, tab 'Server', parameter 'Error Reporting' = 'Maximum'

Thanks very much for contacting Aicha.
Previously we had been using the free version.

However, we do have a subscription for 4.14 but haven't yet installed it due to uncertainty with compatibility with Joomla 3. I believe the visforms installation is the free version but not absolutely sure.

Confirming we did check the field prior to unpublishing/deleting. I have a couple of short video's of the issue if that would assist?

I order to be able to help, I would be best served with the Akeeba backup of the affected website.

The question is, can you provide us with an Akeeba backup of the site?
We use the following platform for this purpose:

- Your sender email address is already entered.

Happy to inform that we have now solved the issue!

a) Reinstalled vfbase_j3.9.0_3.0.4 package
b) Unpublished all conditionals fields in an affected form
c) Re-published each field and tested one by one

This identified the single field causing the problem on all forms. It was a checkbox field.

We haven't explored the cause as the field is not essential thus have simply removed it.
