SPAM Notification was created by Nasho23
07/07/2017 - I updated my Joomla to 3.7.3 from 3.7.2 and at the same time updated VisForms to the latest version. We received and eForm by Email from a prospective Member but there was also what I believe to be a Spam Notification with Delivery Failure. Not sure if this is from Vis Spamcheck. Otherwise Test Forms come through Email OK.
I cannot Paste a Copy of the Notification Image - Details follow.
Mail Delivery Failed: Returning Message to Sender.
ATT00028.dat Attached eForm
This Message was created by Mail Delivery Software.
A Message you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address failed. "Membership Officers Email Address"
Host mx-cluster.bendigotelco.net.au [180.92.210.19]
SMTP Error from remote email Server after end of data.
550 High Probability of Spam.

Is this the work of VisForm Spamcheck or is it the work of our Internet Provider or otherwise.

Thank You.

Hi,

this is not caused by Visforms or it's spambot check plugin.

The Visforms Spambot Check is restricted to check on the very specific action that a Visforms form is submitted in the front end of your website. It does not start working on Updates or any request from the Administration of your Website.

Visforms Spambot Check does not send any mails. If you want to monitor spam attempts, you can enable an option that will store spam "attack" information in the database. But never mails

Actually I think this mail and your Joomla! and Visforms update is a coincidence. Maybe a spam user with a fake email address tried to submit the form (in frontend end). If the eForm came through then the spam user was actually not yet listed on the online spambot databases which the Visforms plugin uses for it's check. The notification would then probably come from your internet provider.

Regards,
Aicha

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.
Please only ask 1 question per topic :-).

Das meiste gilt rückwirkend auch für Joomla 3.
