Hi there,

My visform-menu item is missing in the admin-menu in the backend.
I have tried to locate the com_visform record in the jos_menu table in the database but could not find it. I looked at other databases of websites that do have the menu-item, but also there I could not find the com_visform item.

How can a re-add the Visform menu-item in the backo-office? Re-installing of the component did not work because I have the most recent version.

Using Joomla 3.8.3 and Visform 3.10.3

Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,

I have never heard of such a problem before, with regards to Visforms.

It is Joomla! that manages the menu table, not the component, although the component has to tell Joomla! what menu items it needs.

What did you do, before the problem with the menu item startet (update Joomla! Visforms.....)?

Are you sure there is no com_visforms menu entry? If the values in the rtl and lft columns, which are set by Joomla! are incorrect, then menu items may vanish.

In my menus table it looks like that:

256 main COM_VISFORMS com-visforms com-visforms index.php?option=com_visforms component 0 1 1 10000 0 0 1 components/com_visforms/images/icon-16-visforms.png 0 {} 149 150 0 1

Maybe you can fix it through Extensions -> Manage -> Database and then the "Fix" button?

Regards,
Aicha

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.
Please only ask 1 question per topic :-).

Thanks for the quick reply.
The database-fix option did not work. I tried that.
But after inserting the record into the menu-table I got the menuitem back. I'm not sure what value is needed in the component-id but it works with the random value I used.

I do not know when the error occured. I have not noticed it until I had to modify the form used on the site.

Thanks,
Peter
