Hi,

do you have some more information? Which plugin version do you use, what action do you check. Which e-mail did you use for testing? What spambot datasource do you use?

Regards Aicha

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.

I'm using plgspambotcheck_j16_1.1.8 for Joomla! 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5 on Joomla 2.5.7.
I checked with annelvefage@hotmail.com, SpambotCheck stopped the register but it didn't send any mail to administrators.
I'm using Stopforumspam.com, spambusted.com, Dns Sorbs.net and Dns SpamCop.net.

Hi,

I checked the plugin with your details and had no problems receiving a notification mail. I have some ideas what might cause your problem. You receive other emails from your Joomla website to your admin email address, don't you?

- "Receive System emails" could be disable in the user manager
- The user group name for super admins could have been changed (user groups manager). The plugin assumes that the user group name is "Super Users" (as is the default set by Joomla!). I have still to figure an other way to detect admins, that uses Joomla ACL system information instead.
- The notification mail could be in your e-mail spam folder
- There are two plugin parameters to configure the notification mail. If you set the second one (which chooses the action on which a mail is send) to login, then you would not receive a notification mail if you test the registration process.

Hope I could help you.

Kind regards, Aicha

Yes, this is what happens. I use Joomla in Spanish and my super admins group is called "Super Usuarios" (in Spanish), not "Super Users". I tested with XAMPP on my local server, changing the group name of Super Admins to "Super Users" and received the notification mail correctly.
I do not know if I should change the name of the group in my actual site or you can change the plugin code to identify the Super Admin group without relying on language.

Thnak you very much.
