Hi,

I have used spambotcheck successfully when my site was built in J2.5
Recently I upgraded my site to J3.4.1
I downloaded spambotcheck for Joomla 3 and installed it. After installation I got the message ' plugin successfully installed' . Only....it was nowhere visible. I tried several times to install the plugin to no avail.
I still had the J2.5 version so I tried to install that one. Installation was successfull and I was able to configure the plugin. But it looks like it does not work. I still get false registrations. No wonder, it was written for J2.5.

Can anybody shine some light on this.
Why can't I get spambotcheck to install?

Hi,

I'm not sure, but I think that maybe there is a problem with the record sets in your #__extensions table (douplicate entries for the plugin) with the result, that the plugin is not displayed in the Administration -> plugins view.

Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.

Hello Aicha,

Thanks for the fast reply. If that is the case then how is it possible that other plugins (like the J2.5 version of the plugin) do show in my Administration -> plugins view?
What can be done about this?

Hello Aicha,

Yes it is still installed.
For your information. Prior to the upgrade of the website from J2.5 to J3.4.1 the 2.5 plugin was uninstalled. Only after the upgrade I installed the 3.0 version. When that did not seem to work I installed the 2.5 version again.
