When a user tries to register who is flagged as a spammer they are redirected to www.mydomain/ instead of www.mydomain.com

Any ideas?

Hi mark,

I'm not quite sure about this. When a Spammer is prevented from registration the plugin redirects to 'index.php'. This seems to work fine for almost every Joomla! installation but I had a similar issue once.

I think, that the problem is caused by some component - like SEF Component - , or the .htaccess which subsequently process this redirect url and it is a problem with your installation in the first place which should better be solved at the right place.

Nevertheless, if the plugin redirects to the baseurl (without 'index.php') the redirect might work. You could try that.

I don't know whether you use Joomla! 2.5 or 3

Go to the file
plugins/user/spambotcheck/spambotcheck.php

For Joomla! 2.5

find

$app->redirect('index.php', $message, "error");
that about line 79 (in function onBeforeStoreUser)

and replace it with

$app->redirect(JURI::base(), $message, "error");

For Joomla 3

find

$app->redirect('index.php')
that's about line 67 (in function onBeforeStoreUser)

and replace it with
$app->redirect(JUri::base(true));

Let me know, if this worked for you.

Kind Regards,
Aicha

:idea: I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.
Please only ask 1 question per topic :-).

:idea: Ich empfehle Dir die neue und aktuelle Dokumentation für Joomla 4:

Das meiste gilt rückwirkend auch für Joomla 3.
Bitte immer nur 1 Frage pro Thema stellen :-).
