Email Predefined Placeholders was created by gsadesign
I have had a look over the forum and documentation, we were unable to find any previous topics on the issue we face. the question is, are there any predefined Placeholders for "Email Receipt Text" and "Result Mail Text" more specify [RECORD_ID], [REGISTERED_AT], [FORM_TITLE], [IP] etc? This so they can be included inside the mail body with custom "pretty" layouts.

Whilst it can be added to the end of an email with selecting the option for each of the above, could it not also have a placeholder? just like the "include Data" can be turned off and on but still show through User Inputs Placeholders?

Hi,

at the moment there are only placeholderssupported of fields which you have created for your form. Support placeholders for the "overhead" information (like record id...) is one of the features we are currently working on and it will be available with one of the next Visforms feature releases.

Regards,
Aicha

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:

Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.

Hi,

we have refactored the place holder feature with Visforms 3.11.2 release candidate. The installation/update is not yet distributed using the Joomla! Update manager because it's status is release candidate

You can download the installation/update from the downloads menu.

After you have installed the update, the former editor button "Visformsfields" will be renamed to "Visforms Placeholder". The placeholder list, which is displayed in a popup, if you click the "Visforms Placeholder" button, firstly provides placeholders for the overhead fields (Formtitle, Id, Created, Modified at and IP). Secondly for some field types, you can now select between different placeholder, which will effect the replace value (i.e. for file upload fields you can decide whether the placeholder is replaced with the origininal file name or the local path or the full path or a link to the uploaded file).

In order to achieve this, the placeholder string format has been changed completely, but placeholders in the old format will still be replaced properly just as with older Visforms versions.

We strongly recommend to test on a test website first. At least make sure, that you have a full backup of your website, before you install the update.

Regards,
Aicha
