Entering CSS class was created by Frank
I would like to add some css to a text name field but am notsure how to do it. I see there is a layout tab for the field and I can put a CSS class selector in there but what else must I do to make this selector active. :)

Hi Frank,

first you type the classname you want to put to the field (or the label) into the respective field parameter (CSS class for label or CSS class for field). I advise to put a blank (character) in front of the classname because that allows you to use that classname separately.

Next you have to write some css code either in the visforms css file or a css file of your template. For example if you typed in " myClass" in the field configuration. You can add custom css by adding

.myClass {add your css rules here}

in a css file.

You can edit the visforms css files from your Joomla Backend. In the forms view there is a button "edit css".

Add your custom css at the bottom of that file so that it will override previous rules for the field.

Good luck and kind regards,
Aicha

Thanks for the help Aicha.
I got it to work by adding my class to the visforms.css file. I need to get it working in an "override" file now.

Hi Frank,

it would be helpful, if I could take a look at the form.
Could you please post the link (or send it to my e-mail which you find bellow in the page's footer module) ?
And the field you put the css class to.

Kind Regards,
Aicha
